Hello, my husband and I are planning a trip to the area this coming summer and are hoping to spend some time in the Sussex and Kent areas because that is where his family came from prior to emigrating to the US. Are there genealogical societies there or records offices that may have historical records dating to the early 1600s?

One response to “Genealogical Resources”
There is the Kent County Archives in Maidstone and the Sussex County Archives near Brighton which both hold a large amount of historical records and data. There is a National Archives site that you can search on-line. Some villages also have Historical Societies that can also be helpful.
