I am trying to locate a New Lodge Farm in Hawkhurst. My great-grandparents are listed as living there around 1917 / 18 when my great-uncle died in WW1. My great-grandfather was a gardener by trade, so it’s possible he moved from his Dorset home to work in the area. I can’t find the farm on google maps, so does anyone know if it still exists, or if not, where it was?

One response to “New Lodge Farm”
When I lived in Hawkhurst in the late 1940’s, my address was (Little) Barnfield Farm, but on occasions it was referred to as New Lodge Farm. It was along High Street, on the left hand side, going towards Tunbridge Wells, A268, just beyond Marlborough House School and Philpott’s Cross. A few years ago I went there but the the farm house was obscured by large trees. In my time there was a farm house for the manager and 5 cottages for other workers.
